What is Dropinn?

How do I send files from my phone to my PC without a cable or app?
Open Dropinn on your PC and on your phone. If both are on the same Wi-Fi, they already share one space: tap Choose Files on the phone and click Download on the PC. On different networks, click Private Share on the PC and scan its QR code with the phone.
How do I transfer files from an iPhone to a Windows PC?
Open Dropinn in Safari on the iPhone and in any browser on the Windows PC. Tap Choose Files, pick photos from your library or documents from the Files app, and download them on the PC. No iTunes, iCloud or cable is needed.
Is there an AirDrop for Android and Windows?
AirDrop itself only runs on Apple devices, and Quick Share can exchange files with iPhone only on some newer Pixel and Galaxy phones. Dropinn works in any browser, so Android phones, Windows PCs, iPhones and Macs can all share files and text with each other.
How do I share text or a link between my phone and computer?
Paste or type the text into the Share Text box on Dropinn and press Share Text. It appears on your other device within seconds with a Copy button, and links are clickable, so it works like an online clipboard between phone and PC.
How do I share files with a QR code?
Click Private Share and Dropinn shows a QR code for a new private session. Scan it with the other device's camera to open the same session, then add files or text on either side. Rooms also have a QR code that joins directly.
Do both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
Only for Wi-Fi Share. Private Share links and rooms work over the internet, so the devices can be on different Wi-Fi networks or mobile data.
Is Dropinn free, and do I need to sign up?
Dropinn is free to use and has no sign-up, login or email step. A share is identified only by a random link, a QR code or a 6-digit room code.
How large can files be, and how long are they kept?
Each file can be up to 10 GB. Private Share sessions last 2 hours, rooms last 24 hours, and files and text shared on Wi-Fi expire 2 hours after they are added. After that everything is deleted automatically.
Is Dropinn an alternative to Snapdrop, PairDrop or LocalSend?
Yes. Like them, Dropinn shares files between nearby devices, and it also works across different networks, keeps files available for hours so the receiver can download later, and shares text alongside files. It runs in the browser with nothing to install.
Is sharing on Dropinn secure?
Share links use 256-bit random tokens that cannot be guessed, uploads and downloads travel over HTTPS directly to storage, and everything is deleted on expiry. Anyone on the same network can see Wi-Fi Share items, so use a Private Share or room for anything sensitive.
